"Using Sue's Mindfulness Coaching has undoubtedly helped me so much during a really difficult time personally. Sue is such a naturally warm and positive person. She is calm and supportive, and helped me to discuss issues, coming up with helpful strategies and suggestions in such a positive and caring way. I cannot recommend Sue highly enough, and thank her for helping me work through everything so I am in a much better place, and suitably equipped to move forward.” September 2024 (Name withheld for client privacy)

According to Mind, one in six people in England report experiencing anxiety and/or depression in any given week. Even more concerning is that research carried out by NHS Digital in 2020, found one in six children aged 5 to 16 was identified as having a probable mental disorder - an increase from one in nine in 2017.

It's not easy to navigate today's world, and it can often have a negative affect on mental and emotional health. I equip people with the tools to better cope with whatever life throws at them. Studies show mindfulness can help:
  • wellbeing
  • overall mood
  • ability to focus
  • self-esteem and self-acceptance
  • stress and anxiety management
  • relationship building
  • emotional resilience

Psychologist Session

Mindfulness Based
Cognitive Therapy

MBCT enhances traditional CBT by incorporating mindfulness. While it aims to identify and replace negative thoughts and behaviours with positive ones, MBCT goes further than CBT by helping people disassociate themselves from their negative thoughts, plus it emphasises self compassion. Studies have shown MBCT reduces depression relapse and offers comparable results to antidepressants. Once the root cause of the negative thought pattern and behaviour is identified, I can work on helping you release the habit through cognitive therapy and meditation, so you can move on with your life.

Children in Yoga Class

After-school Clubs

I go into schools to train pupils and/or staff in mindfulness. I also run a programme of six hour-long sessions after school to introduce children to being mindful. Each session consists of a guided meditation, plus activities and games that highlight aspects of mindfulness, even mindful chocolate eating! Feedback from parents is very positive, with one mum tell me her daughter reminds her to "eat mindfully".

One-to-one Mindfulness Coaching for Adults

Mindfulness practice has been shown to reduce anxiety and depression. It can be highly effective used on its own, but also works well alongside more mainstream therapies and prescribed medications. It teaches techniques to become aware of, but not engage with, negative thoughts and emotions. Constantly focussing on negative thoughts, whether worrying about future or ruminating on past events, can take over your life, which ultimately can lead to anxiety and depression. I can teach you how to stop the worry habit to induce a more positive, focussed attitude, which can lead to greater success and happiness.
